JEdit42final: Scrolling seems to hang

Few days ago i installed a new pc with WinXP, Java 1.5.0 and JEdit42final. Scrolling is nearly impossible even for small text files (< 200 lines). JEdit seems to hang for several seconds before stumpling some lines.

Does anyone have the same problem and knows a solution or could give some tips?

After reinstalling WinXP-Sp2 and JDK-1.5.0 the scrolling is as usual as before without leaving any problems. Any idea?

I really don't know the reason of the former problems and why they are gone now.

I also have the same problem on WinXP Home - SP2 and JDK150. When using the scroll button on the mouse jedit scrolls really jittery and it is very unpleasant to look at. When using the slider it scrolls smoothly. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to have it scrolling smoothly?
