do you know how can I interact with JEdit text area from a plugin?

Yes, that's what I'd want to do, but the java compiler gives me an error when I try to include the class "JeditTextArea". Is it normal? Is there something I must do to import the package "textarea"?

Don't want to state the obvious, but are you fully qualifying the class name? You should import "org.gjt.sp.jedit.textarea.JEditTextArea" not just "JEditTextArea". Also, make sure the jEdit.jar file is in your classpath as Lee says.

You need to include the jEdit jar file on your classpath. All the jEdit classes are contained in the file jEdit.jar which should be in the directory where you installed jEdit.
