FTP-0.7.3 connection pool problem

I've noticed strange behaviour of FTP plugin in version 0.7.3 (as opposed to 0.7.2 which works OK).

When I try to open a large ammount of files (let's say 25) at the same time, jedit opens 25 connections to ftp server (or at least tries to). As I have a connecion limit on my FTP server set to 10 (windows 2000 pro with built-in ftp service), jedit gives me a nice ftp error.

Did anybody experienced similar problems?

Please forgive the "me too" post to a stale thread, but I'm seeing the same issue on a fresh install of jEdit 4.3pre16 with FTP Plugin version 0.9.5.

The plugin doesn't seem to be reusing existing connections, and since each connection to my server remains open for the default three minutes and my server limits FTP connections to ten, if I perform more than ten saves in three minutes, the FTP plugin produces the "too many connections" error, frequently leaving me unable to save a buffer if I'm making many quick, small changes.

One user, scaRFhogg, reported having placed a "Close All Connections" button on his toolbar but didn't elaborate. That'd be a handy workaround if someone could give me a tip on how to do that. Otherwise, I'm frequently having to either wait three minutes, or log onto my server's cPanel and kill some open sessions to restore my FTP Save functionality.

Any other tips/workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

I experience the same problem. This also happens when I save a file to a FTP directory and jedit reloads the remote directory.
As a temporary workaround I placed a button with the "close unused connections"-Command on my toolbar that I hit occasionally.
It would be great if we could set a max. connections limit in jEdit.

The new version 0.7.5 of the FTP-Plugin should deal with the Problem of too many connections. At least the release description tells so. It is not yet officially released, but it will with the next Plugin Batch which should happen in the next days I think.
