doesn't work in ubuntu

I get the same error in Ubuntu 5.10 from a shell prompt. Was installed by adding these lines to sources.list:

deb http://dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/jedit ./
deb-src http://dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/jedit ./

The icon tries to load a few seconds and then disapears in Gnome.

Anyone get it to work in Ubuntu?

have you try it with a older version of breezy?

Hey - found this post when I had this problem on FC4. I removed the jre 1.4.2 development libraries with yum and editted the jedit runscript (/usr/bin/jedit for me) to point to my installation of jre 1.5.0. Good luck - switch to jre 1.5.0.
