Edit Mode-specific Shortcuts (key bindings)
Submitted by bmc on Friday, 17 March, 2006 - 18:23
As far as I can tell, from digging through the docs and the API, there's no support for mode-specific key bindings. This feature would be *really* useful.

It does not solve the feature request but here is a workaround: Define a macro for the key. There you can find out the edit mode and react on this information. Example:
String currentMode = buffer.getMode().toString();
if (currentMode.equals("php")) {
    // do something for php edit mode

} else {
    // do something for all other edit modes

}
