Where are the "modes" folder and "catalog" file for Mac OS X? (jEdit 4.3pre8)

Clicking the Mac OS X package link on the jEdit download page results in jEdit.app being installed on the Desktop as expected, but there does not appear to be any of the supporting folder and files. I can't seem to find the modes folder or the catalog file?

More specifically, I have written special instructions for jEdit users to enable .shtml syntax highlighting for a custom file extension, but the instructions won't work for Mac users. How do I instruct Mac users on enabling syntax highlighting for a custom file extension?

You have to navigate into the .app.

The modes directory is still there.

You now have to navigate into the .app.

For me I installed it in /Applications, so just "Show Package Contents" on the jEdit application and navigate to ./Contents/Resources/Java/. You'll see the support directories there. I haven't been completely following the releases but I'm pretty sure this is how it's been for the last couple of releases and I'm pretty sure this is how it'll continue to be.

That's just what I needed to know.

I've updated my user instructions to say:

For Mac OS X users, bring up the context menu (right mouse click) for "jEdit.app" (probably in "/Applications") and select "Show Package Contents". You will find the "catalog" file in the "Contents/Resources/Java/modes" folder.

The MacOSX package for jEdit4.2final
includes the supporting folders, including modes, located in
a folder.

The location for me is jEdit4.2/modes

There is in addition a folder

~/.jedit/

with additional support folders and files, such as
history and abbrevs .

I have tried modifying the catalog folder in the location

~/.jedit/modes/catalog.xml

But for me this has broken the keyboard abbreviations.
So I have modified catalogs and syntax highlighting files in the
location

jEdit4.2/modes/
