Templates

Moving from Dreamweaver, I'm used to being able to create a basic template (usually with header, nav, footer info) and use that to create my other pages, that way, if I need to change something in the navigation for instance, I update the template and it instantly replicates to all other pages in site. Is there such a feature in jedit? I have to imagine there is and I just haven't found it yet.

There are ways to create templates. Check the SuperAbbrevs plugin, and the Templates Plugin.

But I don't believe either will automatically replace the templated pieces of your files when your templates are updated.

Thanks, I've downloaded both of those templates but boy, when developing a website, if it's a large one, If I had to go to every page to make a simple navigation update, that would be painful, really painful. Sad

Anyone else have any input?

How such update should work? Simply replace old text with new one in a group of files? Or it leaves some marks in text so it knows what part of page belongs to a template?
IMHO, it is the responsibility of template engine used to present HTML (even if it is as simple as SSI includes are), not a text editor.
