placing scrollbar or tabs in commando custom UI ..
Submitted by d_l on Tuesday, 12 January, 2010 - 17:24
I have a number of options/arguments to to be selected in a commando UI window.
The selected arguments are concatenated into a long command line (as in java.xml commando example).
However the number of arguments to be selected creates a UI with too many lines and too large a height.

Can I add a scroll bar and/or additional tabs to a custom commando UI?

.. to be placed in %USERPROFILE%\.jedit\console\commando\ ?

There are already two default tabs which show in the commando UI window -
"Settings" and "Commands" -
so it must be possible to insert extra tabs.
e.g. Settings 1, Settings 2, Settings 3, Commands

But I don't see any syntax for "scrollbar" or "tabs" in Commando help.
And what sets the width/height dimensions of the commando UI?

Thanks for any tips on extending the UI.

There's no way to do such things - except You change the Console Plugin Eye-wink
one possible approach .. popup multiple UI's
by d_l on Tue, 12/01/2010 - 19:53
Browsing for tutorials on Commando usage this site suggests that one approach .. instead of using scrollbar and tabs (if that is possible).. is to break up the UI into several popups instead of putting everything into one UI.

http://jedit4autoit.thorsten-willert.de/

Incidentally this also shows how to extend scripting using AutoIT.

I guess that a UI might be written to popup a group of associated UI's.

I would still like to know if scrollbar/tabs can be added to a single UI popup.

commando xml files ..

I've found an odd problem in editing and testing commando files in .jedit\console\commando\*.*

If I create a file with an underscore "_" in the filename

e.g. alpha_beta.xml

when I run the commando file in commando toolbar a "clone" is created in same directory .. but with a space replacing the underline character

"alpha_beta.xml" spawns "alpha beta.xml"

this has caused me some headaches in editing one file .. then finding that the changes were not reflected into commando - because it is referring to this spawned second file.

Is this normal?

For now I guess I'll avoid such characters in filenames.

It's surely a bug. You could report it to the Plugin Bugs Tracker: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=588&atid=565475.
