Multiple empty tabs (buffers)
Submitted by Maxim Korobov on Tuesday, 9 August, 2011 - 09:27
When I press CTRL+N, jEdit allows me to open only one empty tab.
How to configure jEdit to allows me to open unlimited count of new docs?

Zero empty tabs (buffers)

I would like the inverse of Maxim Korobov's request - to be able to close the last empty tab and have no tabs, leaving only a blank window (of a different colour to the normal empty document) or else no tab area at all, just the menu bar and tool bar etc. This would be my preferred way for jEdit to start up when given no file arguments.

Hi, this is impossible. And I guess it's a core behavior which cannot be changed easily.

Global Options

There are two requirements:

1. "Global Options -> Saving & Backup -> Never mark Untitled Buffers dirty" is not checked

2. All Untitled buffers are marked as dirty. In general this means, they are not empty.
