Dropdown box width problem with Firefox 1.5
Submitted by jlecain on Wednesday, 24 May, 2006 - 10:28
I am using Firefox 1.5 to browse the Jedit community web site and on that page:
http://community.jedit.org/?q=user/edit the width of all the dropdown boxes (Themes, Timezone, ...) appear minimized.

I can list all the items of the dropdown box but I cannot read the text entirely; in fact I can only see the 2 or 3 first letters.

The dropdown boxes appear well in IE but I don't want to use it Eye-wink

How can I fix that?
Auto save when jEdit window looses focus
Submitted by stellari on Friday, 12 May, 2006 - 16:55
I just download and installed jEdit for the first time and I'm still not completely used to it.
I'm looking for a way to auto save all the open files/buffers once the program looses focus.
I find it very handy when I modify several dependent scripts and then move to a different program to run it.
This is a feature I got used to have in MultiEdit.
I'm sure there must be a way to do it.
Thanks,
Franco

Hi All,
I recently created a couple of new web buttons (based on an existing one) but when I tried to send it to "krisk@acps.org.au" it was returned with an unknown email address error. Anybody got any ideas of how I can submit the new web buttons?

Printing problem: characters run together
Submitted by mfridman on Monday, 7 November, 2005 - 21:32
I am running JEdit 4.2 on Windows XP. If I try to print a C formatted file, some of the characters of the output run together. For example, ((x)<0)looks like the < is overstriking the 0. Is something wrong with my ocnfiguration, or is this a bug?

Updating User Information
Submitted by naugiedoggie on Friday, 26 August, 2005 - 02:46
Well, this qualifies as a site design bug, but anyway ... when I go in and change some information on my account and submit it, if one piece of the information doesn't pass the validator, it wipes out all the other changes! That's fairly annoying! If I make a mistake in the submittal, all the data should be preserved except the bad piece.

Thanks.

Getting spam @ my jedit email address
Submitted by briankohles on Friday, 19 August, 2005 - 02:55
After signing up for the jEdit community I found that I started getting spam @ the address I use for my jedit account even though the account page, says the email address is not public. This is not correct you can search google & return results for my jedit email address coming off of the jedit wiki (http://community.jedit.org/cgi-bin/TWiki/view/Main/WebIndex) for example.

Please get this corrected so I don't have to dissable more of my email addresses.
thanks

Better webhosting and message boards needed!
Submitted by Anonymous on Thursday, 12 May, 2005 - 19:05
jEdit is great editor. But it has awfull website. It is incredible slow, still failures. When I try to view message board, I give up after while because I do not have time to wait minutes for few pages to display.

Message boards aren't better too. They are full of spams (e.g. http://community.jedit.org/?q=node/view/1733), when people try to increase their pagerank by linking to their sites. They are not well-aranged, etc etc!

How about moving to any better webhostig (e. g. sourceforge.net, or trying to get sponsored hosting) and impoving message boards?

could the moderators delete the "junk" posts from the forums?

Some idiot has been posting a lot of crap with links to porn sites.

For example, see the messages with heading "ciao ciao".

Could someone remove these? It's like unwanted graffiti.

Thanks,

Allow < code > and/or < ? php > for Input
Submitted by Anonymous on Thursday, 27 January, 2005 - 21:31
Drupal is currently not set to allow < code > or < ?php > for input. I would like to share some code, but this is difficult with the current settings which will not display the code as I would like within a posting.

Even for this posting I needed to add a space after < and > . Thanks
Congrats to the jEdit guys

I'm a man of few [misspelled] words, so I'll make it brief.

Over the last three or fours months, not by choice, but by smell of money, I've been doing more and more Java development. As such, I've been in search of a Java development environment. I've tried all of the IDEs out there - Eclipse, NetBeans, JBuilder, JDeveloper, etc. Then I came upon jEdit. I've given it a passing glance years ago, but the level of polish and professionalism that it has since obtained is simply astounding. I am trully speechless. It feels like it's really *MY* editor for J2EE projects. I LOVE it. This is coming from a cynic who got started eleven years ago doing assembler under DOS and has coded in everything from DOS's qedit to Borlands Turbo C++ to FTE.

Great job, guys!

Now where is that donate link...
