Reporting Bugs

The wiki is a great place to find help or discuss development ideas, but it's not the place to report jEdit bugs.

You can report a bug on Source Forge
You can send a message to the jEdit-devel list (See Mailing Lists)
You can stop by #jEdit on irc.freenode.net (See Internet Relay Chat)

If you're not using at least 4.3, upgrade and see if the problem still occurs.

If there are error messages in the Activity Log?, make sure to mention them

If the bug involves a problem with one or more keys on the keyboard, include Keyboard Tester output.

If the bug involves jEdit freezing, try to reproduce it. Run jEdit from the command line/terminal, and when it freezes type CTRL-Break in the terminal. Include the information given in the bug report.

If you've found a problem with the community site, you can mention it on the Community Site To Do List?
