ctags and jedit

Hello,
Is there a way to use ctags and jedit across different computers? In other words, I want to open a file from a remote machine on my machine via SFTP, and jump to tags in other files on that remote machine. Maybe I can somehow load a tags file created on that remote machine to my machine? I have a few of the ctags plugins, including the CtagsInterface one. So far none have really explained if this is even possible, let alone how to do it. Thanks.

If you're using Linux ( and maybe if you're using Windows or Mac) you can accomplish this by locally mounting the remote machine's hard drive using NFS. We did this at my last company. e.g. we had a machine called 'monkey' and you accessed monkey's local disk by looking at:
/mount/monkey/

If you're not Root on your machine, this may be impossible to do ( or maybe I'm too stupid to figure it out). I've tried doing this at my current company without root access but have since given up. If you're in Windows this should be easier. I believe there is a way to open up a remote machine's drive. I've asked the question about how to mount a remote windows machine here:
