HELP - cannot save favorite folders in JEdit on Mac

Hi there, When I save a favorite folder to save to / open from in the file dialog, each time I restart JEdit these favorites are lost.

Can anyone explain how I can fix this.

I have seen windows forum entries stating that the properties files for JEdit stores this information, but I cannot find this on the Mac.

I am running Mac OS X 10.5.6 and have JEdit 4.3pre16

The file "properties" resides

The file "properties" resides in the root of jEdit's settings directory. Since I don't know Mac, I can't tell You the right place to look for. Under Windows it's a directory called .jedit in the user profile.

In this file a favorite is defined in a line like this: 'vfs.favorite.0=G\:\\BAT'
You can insert the lines manually as a workaround. The last part of the property name has to be an ascending number - I assume without gaps.

If Your saved favorites first do work and then are lost after a restart, I guess this does happen for all settings changes, doesn't it? Normally this does only happen when the file properties is opened in jEdit.

I eventually found the properties file.

It is located in .jedit directory under you users home directory.

You can also find this, under the Utilities menu in jedit, under Settings directory.

I have added vfs.favorite.0 and vfs.favorite.1 and these now are loaded on startup.

It is still a pain that I have to 'manually' add these.
