jDiff: any way to invoke by cli (passing args)

Hi,

i'd like to use jDiff@jEdit as a external Diff tool for my GIT client app.. the question i have:
Can i invoke/start jEdit by passing the two filepathes and some arg that makes jedit diff those right away?
Something along the line:

$ /Applications/jEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/jedit -diff "$1" "$2"

Hi,

I don't think that jDiff plugin could be invoked this way. But You could ask at the jEdit Developers Mailing List where the developers are and/or file a feature request at SourceForge .

If You would be willing to code some Java, another option would be that You let the GIT client app create a Beanshell macro, that would do the trick. Then You could invoke jEdit with the command line option "-run=path_to_macro" and jEdit will run the macro.

thx for your reply and excuse me getting back so late.. (i don't get any notifications from this board).

I allready thought so, bummer. Unfortunately i can't hop too many loops to get this workin.. i actually switched from jEdit (jehova! Eye-wink

to Sublimetext2, and the sole reason i keep (and still like) jEdit around is for it's in-app diff. Java anyway has never been an option, and beanshell-wise i'm also a clueless cop&paste rookie. Eye-wink

Maybe i'll give the dev list a shot..
