jEdit is not just for programmers; Randall Wood is using it to write a book.

There were some errors in the original Mac OS X package, including an old Mac OS Plugin. You can find the new version on the downloads page. If the file you have downloaded is jedit42.dmg (3437443 bytes), then you do not need to worry about downloading it again.

jEdit 4.2final is now available. Major changes since jEdit 4.1. If you're upgrading from jEdit 4.1, remove all plugins, and reinstall them.

jEdit 4.2pre15 is now available. This will be the last pre-release before 4.2final. Please report bugs!

jEdit 4.2pre13 is now available for download. This release fixes the infamous ClassCastException on startup, as well as a number of other bugs.

jEdit 4.2pre12 is now available download. This is mostly a bug fix release, with a few updated syntax highlighting modes.

jEdit 4.2pre11 is now available for download.

This release fixes a show-stopper bug in pre10. The JAR file included in
the installer was not completely up-to-date, and it had a property file
lossage bug.

jEdit 4.2pre10 is now available for download. This release features a large number of bug fixes, several new and updated macros, and improved documentation. jEdit 4.2final is getting closer, so report those bugs, and come say hi on irc.freenode.net #jedit with the IRC plugin! A full changelog is available.

In VHDL, a single apostrophe ' is used in the following case: 'event where can be any predifined signal (its like a variable). The bug is of course that the VHD highlighter thinks this is a single quote opeing a string, thus highlighting the rest of the line.

An easy rule would be to just check for the word "event" after a single quote. Here is the required update for vhd.xml - the following should replace the single quote span:
