Focus problem with 4.2final ?

I am a long time jEdit user and I recently upgraded to Sun Java JDK1.5 and jEdit 4.2final and find jEdit to be unusable now because it keeps switching window focus to the previous applications window. It does this whenever I open a new file, finish a search or click OK on any jEdit popup window. So, say I open a new file, then once it loads, it automatically flips to Firefox, which I have running in the background. I should also mention I am running this on Linux.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug I should submit?
FTP plugin cannot save over SFTP if not owner of the file
Submitted by Anonymous on Sunday, 14 November, 2004 - 16:39
[this is a very annoying problem, and hasn't existed before...]
FTP plugin requires me to be owner of the file if saving over SFTP even in the same group.
File permissions: 775
Same group, different user, saving doesn't work, gives error:
Cannot save: java.io.IOExpection:
and nothing more...
Works only if I am the owner of the file...
Solutions, please. I cannot do work because of this
Need to use ssh connection + pico ...

Few days ago i installed a new pc with WinXP, Java 1.5.0 and JEdit42final. Scrolling is nearly impossible even for small text files (< 200 lines). JEdit seems to hang for several seconds before stumpling some lines.
Does anyone have the same problem and knows a solution or could give some tips?
Thank you all.
Large Mode file -- real slow

i add serval keywords to the mode/python.xml file (common libraries & methods)
all as keyword3 (filesize*=2.5)
display is really slow
complete word works only for word defined before
e.g.
OK
abcd
ab[cd]
Wrong
ab[] -- abcd is NOT shown
abcd
CPU is not too bad, Java/Jedit-Memory is really big
any idea - i would try to fix if somebody give me a hit

RegEx: look-behind-Assertions are buggy

When i search the word "foobar" for
foo(?=bar)
jEdit delivers "foo" as a result, which is right.
However, when I search for (?<=foo)bar, i get the following error Message, although i'm pretty sure my RegEx is OK so far.

No second password dialog after login error
Submitted by Anonymous on Sunday, 5 September, 2004 - 09:43
Hi
It's more about usability but it's important.
If you select an FTP path from you favorites or from the history, there will apear a dialog box where you can enter your password. If the entered password is wrong you get a stupid error message, and the FileBrowser shows the path into an empty directory... If you like to try it again, you can't use the history/favorites anymore, you have to select FTP->Connect and enter de Servername Username and Password. After that you can use your favorites entry again...
If there is a Login'Exception' the FTP Plugin should reset the FileBrowser-Path to the last directory and kill the FTP Object (or what the hell you exactly use), this way if I select the history entry again, I get the Passwortdialog pressented agian..

Rectangular selection mode, clicking causes a change in buffer
Submitted by Anonymous on Wednesday, 11 August, 2004 - 13:05
4.2pre15
When in rectangular selection mode, clicking anywhere in the buffer cause it to think you are making a change to it, even if you don't insert anything there. It does not do that when in the normal selection mode.
P.S. Thanks to all the developpers of Jedit, it is a fantastic editor.

It seems that if your browser doesn't have cookies allowed for the jedit.org website, that the login name will not "stick" and all your posts will be under the name "anonymous".
This happens WITHOUT WARNING.

Having an XML Scheme starting with (I suppose, correct - the same used in w3.org) lines:
-cut-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
-/cut-
I get a parser error:
cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'xs:schema'
To close tag, expressed parsing (document save for me) is required

Having autoclosed by default ( is inserted). Now lets eraze the "/" - the sidekick or XML plugin or somebody else should insert the closing tag when I type ""... That does not happen until I reparse the document (by saving it in my case)

Pre 12 Problem
Submitted by Anonymous on Monday, 3 May, 2004 - 23:04
Jedit would not run after making a few changes to a new untitled file, and then exiting jedit, discarding changes. I use XP SP1 and the jedit build was 4.2 pre12. If you blow away the user directory, then jedit works again. Had to go back to 4.1.

I've noticed this bug seems to have been around for some time now and wonder if anyone else has noticed it or has any ideas as to what may be causing it - is it my system config? or is it jedit - thanks

The drop down under the main tool bar (used to select open files), the part that drops down starts at the left side of the screen. it should start at the begining of the applications left side.

JEdit4.2pre11 periodic pauses
Submitted by Anonymous on Tuesday, 23 March, 2004 - 22:05
I seem to be getting pauses when typing text into an existing file. They also seem to happen when scrolling.
When scrolling, every 20 lines or so, the scrolling pauses for half a second, then resumes for another 20 lines, then pauses, etc.
When inserting text, every 5 or 6 characters, there is a half a second pause, then it continues inserting 5 more chars, then a pause etc.
I did not see this with 4.2pre9.

jEdit 4.2.pre9 on Java 1.5.0 beta - NoClassDefFound
Submitted by Anonymous on Thursday, 19 February, 2004 - 21:30
I recently installed the Java 1.5.0 beta on my Linux machine. jEdit 4.1.final seems to have no problems with it, but when I try to run jEdit 4.2.pre9, I get this error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: error:
Note that this is the only line printed. There is no stack trace or any other information. Odd, isn't it? Has anyone been able to duplicate this problem?
