Start batch file or program

Hi, is there a way to start a batch file and/or a program from a menuitem and/or a shorcut from jEdit. Is there an option in jEdit or in a plugin to do this?

Hi,

you can use the Console plugin to start programs.
http://plugins.jedit.org/plugins/?Console

The plugin can be controlled with macros so you can start programs with shortcuts. Here you can find a macro which makes use of the plugin to start an external html checker. You can modify it for your needs:

how to synchronize script with the batch file

I figured out how to start a batch file from macro and automatically close console. Thanks to baloo for the script at

I need to learn one more thing: how can I synchronize script execution with the batch file? I want the script to wait until the batch program is finished.
