Faster startup

(I know about the background mode.) If JEdit could be faster at startup it would be great. Maybee something to try could be SwingWT at https://sourceforge.net/projects/swingwt.

Jedit rectanglur copy

I like the rectangular copy, but I don't seem to be able paste the result in column mode.

Somtimes I want to copy a rectagular area, let's say, lines 5 to 8 between columns 11 to 20, and insert the rectangular area starting at line 25 to 28 before column 1, or write over the area at line 25 to 28, and columns 1 to 10

... i would say more responsiveness to use action instead of faster startup.

I'm agree to suggest to profile some performance aspect to achieve more responsiveness during normal usage, it doesn't matter so much to have jEdit startup faster.

But actually i don't know if this is a goal which could be reached with the use of different windows toolkit or something else.

I would like to here about this by some of the core developers (Slava !?)
