Whitespace plugin doesnt work in 4.2final

First of all jEdit is a great stuff and i'm very impressed with it! I sent to trash my ultraedit Smiling

Whitespace plugin doesn't seem to be working properly in 4.2final. It simply doesn't show anything Sad

I tried modified unofficial version of this plugin(this topic arose here already) and to no avail...

Can someone help me please?

A new version will be in the next plugin batch which should be released before too long. If you're comfortable compiling from source, it's in jEdit's CVS repository.

I download file:

then, in Terminal:
$ cp ~/Desktop/white/WhiteSpace.jar ~/.jedit/jars/WhiteSpace.jar

Then I start jEdit (using QuickSilver, or by duble clicking in Finder), type a few tabs and spaces, and use the Plugins|WhiteSpace menu to "Show spaces" and "Show tabs"

Nothing happens. No checkmarks or other indicator appear next to selected menu item (e.g. "Show tabs") and also no visual tabs or spaces appear in document.

Please help! jEdit version is 4.2final on OS X 10.3.7
