How to reopen file with different encoding

When I open a file using jEdit filesystem explorer, I have a chance to right-click it and choose an apropriate encoding. But what if I open the file thru drag&drop and jEdit fails to recognize encoding correctly? Is there any chance to tell it what encoding it should use?

I'd like someone to solve this too.it's really not easy to change the encoding of an opened buffer and automatic reload it in jedit.While,sometimes,jedit can't detect the encoding correctly.Maybe someone should make a plugin to help us .I will try too.

This is one of my favorite peeves. It makes jEdit poorly suited for working with multiple encoding, even though all common encodings are supported.

I believe the procedure for changing encoding is:
1) utilities -> buffer options -> select desired character encoding
2) file -> reload, click yes without saving

This is not very intuitive. A better way is to have a special command "reload with different encoding" or something like that.

Also, the 'save as' dialog should allow changing encoding and adding unicode signature (BOM).
