Disabling Multiple Instances

Greetings Friends!

I'm a web designer who has just begun using jEdit for coding.

What a wonderful application!

My question is regarding multiple instances.

I often use FileZilla to 'View / Edit' my files. Whenever I do this, a new instance of jEdit is opened, even if the file is already open in jEdit.

I've looked all through the options and cannot find anything relating to multiple instances. Is there any way to disable them?

Pass "-reuseview" to jEdit.

Pass "-reuseview" to jEdit. For example, "java -jar jedit.jar -reuseview foo.txt". FYI, try searching the forums before posting as you may find your answer more quickly -- while not in the FAQ, this is a FAQ.

I just did search the forums for the answer to this; my search term was 'multiple instances'. This thread showed up, as did a few unrelated ones. Nothing more.

So what am I supposed to search for to return the Frequently Answered Queries about multiple instances??
