[error] BeanShell: You have BeanShell version 2.0b1.1-jedit-1 in your CLASSPATH.
[error] BeanShell: Please remove it from the CLASSPATH since jEdit can only runwith the bundled BeanShell version 2.0b1.1-jedit-1

what i need to do?..

I, too, have this problem.

When click the jEdit icon the launch starts but is aborted after the splash screen, and then the error message above appears in the system log.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.3.9, java version "1.4.2_09",

$ echo $CLASSPATH
/sw/share/java/junit/junit.jar:.

I do have another version of bsh, but not on my CLASSPATH (and the error message doesn't actually mention it).

I get the same result using both the Mac OS X and the java based installer.

CLASSPATH message is misleading

Chances are that this has nothing to do with your CLASSPATH. Instead, the beanshell jar you have installed is probably in ~/Library/Java/Extensions or /Library/Java/Extensions. If you remove the beanshell jar from the relevant Extensions folder, jEdit will probably run.

I believe the beanshell installation instructions for Mac OS X recommend putting the beanshell jar in the Extensions folder, but I try not to put *anything* in that folder, since you almost always run into a version conflict somewhere down the line.
