jEdit can't see environment variables

I installed jEdit 4.2pre8 on Windows 2000. It doesn't see my environment varibales, such as JAVA_HOME, CLASSPATH, etc. Is there a place where I can set a variable so that jEdit can detect my environment variables.

You can add a parameter to the start of the Java machine:

-DNAME=VALUE

So to set JAVA_HOME you have to enter:

-DJAVA_HOME=YourValueHere

Hi,

if you use the jEdit launcher with windows, start jedinit.exe.

Then look for the line "Command line options for Java application loader". For each environment variable add the following to the line:

-Dname=value

If you want to "set" the environment variable "myvar" with the value "myvalue" then you have to add "-dmyvar=myvalue" to the line. If you enter several options, enter a space between them.

Example line 1:
-mx96m -jar -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true

Example line 2:
-mx96m -jar -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -Dmyvar=myvalue

If you don't use jEdit launcher you have to add the options to the command line. Example:
java -mx32m -jar -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -Dmyvar=myvalue jedit.jar
