JEdit hangs after splash screen Mac Os X 10.3.9

Installing jEdit
Hi,

I'm trying to run jEtid on my Mac however it does not work. I've tried to install Security Update for Javaj 2005-02 but it did not work neither. Haven't anybody experienced the same problem?
