Submitted by Siver on Tuesday, 16 August, 2005 - 18:17
Hi,

I would like to work under Russian translation of the jEdit help.
Could anybody tell me somethink like starting point or other suggestions?
May be there is already a Russian translation?..

Regards,

Andrey

Sry, but there are NO translations yet. Neither of the GUI, nor of the helpfiles.

Where could I find more information on jEdit help system (in what format the translation should be (or it's just simple HTML)? Should I better use Docbook? How better to replace the standard help on the translation (or just replace the files)? What about the GUI translation?) ?

The result is just plain HTML

The result is just plain HTML, but I would suggest to translate the source, means the DocBook-Files. You can find these in the source-distribution, or rather in the CVS. At both places in the /doc/-folder.
The GUI-Strings are in the file jedit_gui.props

Rus-translation of jEdit basic features...
by Siver on Sun, 21/08/2005 - 12:58
I made russian translation of the page with jedit basic features: http://www.jedit.org/index.php?page=features. Where is it better to place it? On wiki?

Oh, and is it forum a proper place to discuss these questions (may be better in some others places, maillists for example...)?

The wiki isn't editable except by me per hand atm until I have time to figure out how to make it editable again since SF changed it's filesystem-permissions on the web-server.
And what do you want to discuss on the mailing list?
