To enable STATA syntax highlighting you have to proceed the following steps:
1. Download stata.xml
2. Save the file in your ~.jedit/modes/ folder (You can find the location of your .jedit folder in Jedit via
- Utilities - settings directory
3. Edit the file ~.jedit/modes/catalog and add the following lines (as described in stata.xml)
MODE NAME="stata" FILE="stata.xml"
FILE_NAME_GLOB="*.{do,ado,log,doh,dct}"
(Well, add the tags in front and at the end)
3a. Save the file "catalog"
4. If you have jedit 4.2 you have to exit and restart the editor
5. Save a file with the suffix .do e.g.: yourfile.do
6. Have fun with Stata-syntax highlighting in Jedit
