jEdit on Window Server 2012

Hi,
I try to install jEdit 4.1.0 on Windows Server 2012R2 but I get the message "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0".

I have an installed Java Server Runtime:

java -version
java version "1.8.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_20-b26)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.20-b23, mixed mode)

JAVA_HOME is setted. The JAVA_HOME\bin is in path.

Anything else to do?

I didn't try Java 8 yet. But I suspect 64bit Java to be an issue. I 'd try to install via java installer (just another way..)

Hello Robert,
I think the problem is not the version 8. The main problem is the Java Server version. This is not installed by an Windows installer. It is to unpack and set the path and JAVA_HOME manually. I think the jEdit Windows installer is searching the installed Java on an special way. And this does not work with the Java Server version!?
