Understand Jedit coding

Hi can any one help me to understand jedit coding. especially the view part of it.
I urgently need an editor in java with syntax highlighting.

can any one help me to separate the syntax highlighting feature of jedit and apply to a stand alone editor.

Its very urgent.. pls help

I don't really understand the question. jEdit IS a standalone editor.

If you want the syntax highlighting part of jEdit, you should join the user's mailing list and ask about the TextArea project, which is meant to separate jEdit's TextArea out into a java component that can be integrated into any swing application.
