Search and replace - right way

Writing Macros
I have recorded macro like this:

SearchAndReplace.setSearchString("\\{[\\s\\t]+"); SearchAndReplace.setReplaceString("\\{ "); SearchAndReplace.setBeanShellReplace(false); SearchAndReplace.setIgnoreCase(true); SearchAndReplace.setRegexp(true); SearchAndReplace.setSearchFileSet(new CurrentBufferSet()); SearchAndReplace.replaceAll(view);

It works fine, but slow and it beeps each time and so on.

How it should be coded using java.util.regex?

The starting point should be something like:

import java.util.regex.*; 

try {
  pattern = Pattern.compile(regexpString, regexpFlags);
  matcher = pattern.matcher("dummy_string");
}
catch (PatternSyntaxException e) {
  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(view, "Error in initializing re matcher", "Title", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
}
matcher.reset("The text to search for here");
boolean_Match_found = matcher.find();

This example is used in the Line_Filter.bsh macro in the processText() method. For replacing You should look at the api doc...
