Add Marker to Modified Lines
Submitted by jrchilds on Tuesday, 20 January, 2009 - 19:09
It would be handy to have a plugin that adds a non-numbered marker to any modified line.

The editor we previously used marked modified lines, and we would jump through the modifications using a keystroke. The jumping and removing of the markers on save I can handle in a macro. But the part I cant figure out is adding the marker automatically.

I also got addicted to this thanks to delphi 10. It would be amazing to have it in jEdit.

Looks like this feature was only common to Multi-Edit, but it was one that I used very frequently.

Anyone with the appropriate skills want to try and develop a plug-in for this?

Have you had any luck in gett

Have you had any luck in getting this working? This is a feature I would very much like to use myself. In my view, this would be a useful feature similar to what Multi-Edit does that I think is missing from jEdit. I would make heavy use of it.

Would this be easier to implement as a plugin than as a macro?

What I do now, is a Diff against what is in subversion, but that is not as simple and of course only works for files I have under source control.

Regards,
Ron

It's not that easy for a plug

It's not that easy for a plugin to add components to the gutter. This would probably need to be incorporated into the jEdit base application.

I've created a feature request here:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2837820&group_id=588&atid=350588

Please feel free to add comments to it.

Notepad++ also has this feature and I love it. It makes it so easy to track changes you've made.
This feature would be really cool...

I noticed there has been some activity on this in soureceforge, any idea when it will be available in the jEdit plugin manager? I am excited to try it out.

Thanks
