Highlighting the same words by double clicking

Hello,

I would like to double click on a word and have all the same words highlighted in the current file I am editing. For example when I double click word "myVariable", all instances of "myVariable" will be highlighted in the current file.

Is it possible to achieve that in jEdit?

A double-click only selects a word. This is usual in many programs.

But if You were willing to invoke an action after selecting the word, You should try the Highlight plugin. The action "gatchan-highlight-entireword" then does what You want. The fasted way was to assign a keyboard shortcut to this action.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for Your advice. I'll try it. I am used to this feature from Eclipse and NetBeans where placing a cursor on a word highlights the same words in the method. Double clicking for this feature is used for example in the editor Notepad++.

This wouldn't be a bad feature request for the highlight plugin itself. If you're willing, please file a feature request through the tracker on the SF.net project.
