Multiple untitled buffers
Submitted by tj.rothwell on Wednesday, 5 August, 2009 - 17:46
I sometimes like to have multiple untitled buffers open at one time. Is this possible in jEdit?

It appears that once a single untitled buffer open, no additional buffers will be created.

Thanks!

It is possible. But it's not possible anymore to open more than one CLEAN untitled buffer in a bufferSet as of jEdit 4.3pre17. CLEAN means that the preceding small icon in buffer switcher and buffer tab is YELLOW.

In Global Options -> Saving & Backup You can find the option "Never mark Untitled buffers dirty", witch is enabled for You, I think. This option is meant to close untitled buffers without confirmation. But because an untitled buffer is always "clean" then, it also leads to the impossibility to create another one.
