Submitted by powery on Tuesday, 29 December, 2009 - 12:59
Parsing using Sidekick or CtagsSideKick plugin is not possible with new version of jEdit:
jEdit 4.3 final
java 1.6.0_13
SideKick 0.8
CtagsSideKick 1.4

jEdit 4.3pre18 was ok

Same problem?

error hunting
by Robert Schwenn on Wed, 30/12/2009 - 18:49
The "NoSuchMethodError" message could mean, that Your installation is a bit cluttered, because some piece of code isn't found that should be there. Maybe an old plugin mess up things.

First I would try to delete (or rename) the settings directory. Sometimes this helps. If not, try to disable some old plugins, i.e. the docker plugin should be removed. The cleanest method would be to install jEdit from scratch.

When I removed Docker plugin, the problem of wrong parsing is away.

For the future, how to find out, which plugins should by removed?

Thanks for help

Hmm

I'm afraid this isn't documented well. The safest way should be to install all plugins from scratch via plugin manager, because the developers try to provide only working plugins in plugin manager. They are just working on that. But actually there are still some plugins listed that may not work with jEdit 4.3 or that are obsolete now (replaced by newer plugins).
