How to compile and run a java file?

So i am leaning java with jedit. and in PC, at the bottom, there is a console and i type "javac" and "java" to compile and run java program. but now im have a mac, but there is no console button, and i dont know how to compile it. can anyone help me?

Console Plugin

You need the Console Plugin. Then You can invoke "Plugins -> Console -> Console" which opens the Console dockable window. If You dock this window at the bottom there will be the button You know (see jEdit User's Guide http://www.jedit.org/users-guide/docking.html ).
