How to open new file in the same window?
Submitted by ramgovx on Friday, 8 October, 2010 - 17:19
What do I need to configure, for files opened from Nautilus by double click on the same window that is already open?

I just want a single open window.

Shell script

Assumed that Nautilus uses a shell script, You need to find the used script, maybe via shell command "which jedit".

Then edit the script. In the line like

exec $JAVA -Xmx${JAVA_HEAP_MAX_SIZE}M -jar ${JEDIT_HOME}/jedit.jar -background -reuseview "$@" &

You have to add the option "-reuseview". If it is already there, maybe Nautilus is using another command line...
