Deleting tags

Please, I would like some help in the following: I want delet all: in the file. The id=* is different for each occurence. I'm trying the: "(TimeSpan)(.*\n)*.*(/TimeSpan)" but it's not working. How to fix it? Thanks in advance, Ricardo

I can't see what You're looking for.

One tip: try to search manually before coding the regular expression in a macro. Then You will see if the problem is the regular expession itself or it's coding inside a Java string.

Ok,
I want delet all tags like:
TimeSpan id="layer ts1"
/TimeSpan
in file. In my case ther is more than 800 occurences of it. The id changes fir each one.

interactive search

Did You try an interactive search? Works nearly perfect for me, accept that all the text from the first to the last tag is found completely as one occurrence. Try this one instead (of course the brackets have to be included):

"TimeSpan.*/TimeSpan\n"

double quotes

You have to omit the double quotes.
