Hi,

Yes, I did your sugestion...
I also removed all the other jar files (plugins) from the jars folder to be sure they do not interact.
I also tried ctags 551, 552, 553, ...
I took the binaray version and can call the ctags.exe from a command prompt.

I have JAVA 1.5.0_04.
I wonder if I have some hidden settings...

thanks for your help (It should normally be easy...)

1. Are You sure using "Exuberant" ctags?

2. In the plugin options / code browser, You have to input the full file and path of ctags.exe, i-e. "G:\Tools\jEdit\ctags.exe"

3. Ctags doesn't know jedit's editmodes. It maps file extensions to languages => the konsole command "ctags --list-maps" shows you the current maps...

4. If You want to use your own options with ctags (i.e. for create languages that ctags doesn't support internally), You should take them in the file "ctags.cnf" wich seems to have to reside in jEdits working directory (the current directory at start of jedit).
Note that ctags supports dozens of languages internally, but no basic is included.

Which file type are you using?

Are you sure ctags works with the file you are using?
