Javascript Editing Performance

Hi,

I'm changing some largish JS source code files (5000 ~ 10,000 lines), and I've noticed that there's quite pause when I type a function name followed by a "(" character in these files.

I'd guess this is something to do with some sort of code-completion/parsing. Any insights, and how would I turn off whatever behaviour might be causing the delay?

Which jEdit version are you using?

I hope that it's not 4.3pre10 (or SVN), because I've added a
performance fix for the "finding the matching bracket" code.

If you are using 4.2 (or older), please try the latest dev release (4.3pre11).

If you still experience the same slowness, please file a bug at http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=588&atid=100588 (with a way to reproduce it easily).

You would have to get it from SVN and build it yourself, using ant.
IIRC there was some "daily build" somewhere, but I could not find it.

Oh, quite right:

4.3pre10, using Java 1.6.0_02

And my initial report is innacurate: there is no apparent lag when the opening bracket is typed, but the *subsequent* character lags badly (a couple of seconds). It doesn't seem to matter what this character is, i.e. it isn't restricted to other potential delimiters).

I can't add the exact file where this behaviour manifests itself (company policy), but I'l try to concoct one of similar size that exhibits the same behaviour.
