How To Install Plugin on a Mac

I have a couple of questions related to plugins.

Firstly, I'd like to install the latest version of JDiffPlugin (2.1.0) on a Mac (OS 10.4). Why doesn't this version of JDiffPlugin appear in the plugin repository? All I can see is 1.4.2.

Secondly, I've downloaded the binary version of the JDiffPlugin. However I can't find the .jar file. All I can see is a whole lot of .class files and some other bits and pieces. I thought I needed a .jar file.

How do I install this plugin?

1. You are using jEdit 4.2, aren't You? Higher versions of jDiff need jEdit 4.3pre3 at least. This means that You should NOT install them under jEdit 4.2!
jDiff 2.1.0 needs jEdit 4.3pre15, which I can really recommend to use. The only thing is, that there are some Mac OS related issues with Java 1.6. Maybe You should read some related forum threads before updating.

2. I just tried to download a plugin from Plugin Central - without success. But I'm pretty sure that the downloaded file itself is the jar file! The class files are in the jar...

I'm using jEdit 4.3pre11.

I'll try 4.3pre15 and see if that makes any difference.

I downloaded the file for jDiff from the jEdit website but it was from this page (http://plugins.jedit.org/plugins/?JDiffPlugin). I've tried again, getting it from a different page (http://plugins.jedit.org/list.php) and this one has the .jar file.
