BufferList and multiple selection
Submitted by dnagy on Wednesday, 13 April, 2011 - 00:03
In the BufferList pane I used to be able to select multiple files, as you would in windows explorer, using the shift and control key. Recently this behaviour stopped.

A first click on a file "bolds" it and a second selects it (adds a background colour). Once a file was selected I could then add more files using control or shift. This doesn't happen anymore.

Is there another way to do multiple selections?

Are You sure You're talking about the buffer list plugin? It shows a list of all open buffers and lets You activate one of them.

Do You want to have more than one active buffer? Eye-wink

I am talking about the Buffer

I am talking about the BufferList plugin.

When you select a buffer using a left mouse click its gets bolded and shows in the main edit window. I often have a lot of buffers open and I used to be able to select multiple buffers in the bufferlist window using the normal windows selection method of holding the shift or control key down while left clicking files. I could then right click the selection and do things on the selection such as save, close etc. Also you used to be able to right click the directory and perform operations on all the buffers in that directory.

It is this behaviour that has disappeared. It was a really nice way of closing buffers.

I am not sure what version of jedit this behavior changed. Not sure if this is a plugin/jedit or java related change.

Bug

Ah You're right. I never noticed this behavior, but just could reproduce it with Buffer List version 1.2. So, I guess You're talking about version 1.3, which has been released a couple of weeks ago. And since the release notes don't mention the changed behavior, I consider this to be a bug. Would You report it at the SourceForge tracker ( http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=565475&group_id=588&func=browse )?
