Fast Open problems with jEdit 4.2 pre 14

Anyone able to get FastOpen vers 1.0 to work with pre14 ?

Sounds like a great plugin - like Switch Buffer, but allowing search against recent files, as far as I can tell, plus other goodies.

You have not configured any project in ProjectViewer and/or no files in the active project?

I've got Project Viewer vers

I've got Project Viewer vers 2.0.3. A few projects exist in there. I don't really use it much, recently.

Does Fast Open *have* to use Project Viewer?

When I type into FastOpen, the characters do not display properly -- only the last char displays. Nothing shows up in the bottom pane.

UNLESS I select a project. I see now. That's weird!

I expected this to work a little more like Switch Buffer (SB). If I don't choose a project, I expect all open buffers to be searched, again, like SB.

And how can I search recently opened files, as the release notes mention? Only project files?

Let me know if you see the same weird behavior when no project is selected in the dropdown. A little rough around the edges.

Paul,
FastOpen no longer explicitly depends on PV. BUT if you have PV installed then it will use it. This would give you Project Files finding + Recent Files + Open Buffers. If PV is not installed at all then it will allow you to search Recent Files + Open buffers.
I may make it behave the way you mentioned, to ignore if no project found in the next release of FastOpen.
But for now select some Project in which you want to search. Secondly what exception does it show in the Activity log when you do the various actions.

OK - I fiddled with the plugin options and enabled the showing of open files. And the colors for project/non-project files.

Excellent! Now this is working like Switch Buffer but also shows previously opened files. Rocking!
