4.3pre6 on OSX 10.3.9
Submitted by sheeps on Monday, 7 August, 2006 - 00:52
Both the explicit mac version and the java installer for all platforms are built for java 1.5, which means that I can't run them at all.

I assume that this is a mistake, since java 1.4 is the 'declared' minimum for jEdit (and used to work Smiling)

Mac OSX 10.4 has Java 1.5 upgrade

Hi,

This may not be the answer you want, but you can use java 1.5 if you upgrade to Tiger:

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/java2se50release3.html

I am still using jEdit 4.2 final, but some of the plugins I use need java 1.5 .

I found this on the compatibi

I found this on the compatibility page (http://jedit.org/index.php?page=compatibility):

"The recommended Java version for running jEdit is 1.5. jEdit 4.3pre6 and later will require it.

jEdit 4.2final is the last release to support Java 1.3. jEdit 4.3pre5 is the last release to support Java 1.4."

So you'll need to download Java 1.5 from the apple site.
