more recent version of syntax highlighting
Submitted by ehmdjii on Sunday, 16 November, 2008 - 20:36
hello,

i was wondering if there is a more recent version of the syntax highlighting package here: http://syntax.jedit.org/

i'd like to create a texteditor in my java program that highlights some keywords and provides line numbers. does anyone know of a library that can accomplish that? thanks!

While I don't know your reasons for wanting to create a whole new text editor - instead of just using jEdit. You may want to join the jEdit users mailing list and do some research regarding the jEdit stand alone text area. It has the syntax highlighting and basic text editing powers that jEdit does.

As for your question specifically, as far as I know there isn't any updates for that, but you'd be better off posting that question in the users mailing list as well.

Please search through the user's mailing list, or join it and ask again there. I'm not sure of all the information, but I believe you have to build it from source.
